As a social enterprise we focus on B-BBEE consulting with an aim of assisting companies to reach their desired scorecard level whilst at the same time facilitating training to young people from under-resourced communities and providing economic opportunities that would invigorate them to be sustainable citizens. As part of our service offering we are able to assist your company with every element of the scorecard be it through consulting and advisory or end-to-end project management.
The Problem We Face
Youth aged 15 to 24 are the most vulnerable in the South African labour market today, with the employment rate of this age group reaching a 62.1% in the first quarter of 2023. Not only are young people excluded from participating in the labour market, denying them their right to work toward income security and therefore they are unable to lead lives of dignity.
There are a number of factors that contribute to youth unemployment in South Africa ranging from a poor education system resulting in a skills mismatch and employers demanding skills and experienced work seekers. To compete youth need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence and make sense of information. They will also need to learn how to be flexible, communicate effectively, work collaboratively in terms and be adaptable within the working environment.
